This exceptional carving, made from beautiful milo and standing approximately 36 inches tall, is created from trees salvaged from the fires that ravaged Maui in 2023. Majestic Pueo was meticulously crafted by hand in Dale’s Maui studio, where he masterfully brought out the Hawaiian owl hidden just beneath the charred bark.

The Pueo, a sacred and endangered Hawaiian owl, is revered in Hawaiian culture as a guardian spirit, or ‘aumakua,’ symbolizing protection, wisdom, and guidance. Known for its resilience, the Pueo often inhabits areas devastated by natural events, making it a poignant emblem of Maui’s recovery and renewal.
