Handmade instruments by Steve Grimes

There are only four of these ukuleles being made - making this an extremely Limited Edition Offering.
Steve Grimes, a renowned luthier and musician, began his journey in 1972, combining his passions for woodworking and music. After setting up his shop in Seattle and focusing on mandolins, he shifted to guitar construction in the mid-’70s. In 1982, he moved his workshop to Kula, Hawaii, where the stable climate enhances his craftsmanship.
Grimes is celebrated for his high-quality instruments, played by legends such as Steve Miller, Larry Coryell, Pat Simmons, Jackson Browne, Jake Shimabukuro, Willie Nelson, and Paul Simon. Notable innovations include the double soundhole “slack key” guitar, designed in collaboration with Keola Beamer, and the “stress-free” guitar developed with Ned Steinberger. At his small shop, Grimes Guitars produces about twenty meticulously crafted instruments annually, ensuring exceptional tone and detail.
Proceeds from this collection support Treecovery’s mission to assist Maui residents impacted by the fires, giving each purchase a deeper purpose.
